Jonas Jung studied Biology at the Universität Leipzig from 2009 to 2014. In 2012 he finished his B.Sc. studies with a thesis about the photoprotective xanthophyll-cycle mechanism in plants. During his M.Sc. he focused on the evolution and biodiversity of plants with a specailzation in algae and microbiology. For his master thesis about the "Acclimation of the truncated antenna size mutant tla2 of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii to different growth irradiances" he worked at the groups of Prof. C. Wilhelm in Leipzig and Prof. R. Bassi in Verona, Italy. He joined the group of Prof. G. Cuniberti in September 2016 as PhD student with an ESF grant.
