Innovative biomass-based Aerogels
Project, Bachelor, Master, Diplom
Cover

The work aims at developing innovative biodegradable aerogels based on Cellulose, Lignin and Chitin through an innovative green chemistry approach, which, starting from the recovery of industrial hemp-derived cellulose and/or other polysaccharide bio-composites (also from other plant matrices), can design pioneering applications in agriculture and food technologies.
The successful applicant is primarily expected to have a strong interest in innovation and to have a major in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related fields, and to be able to work interactively in a team setting. Strong interests are expected in green chemistry processes and techniques, as well as with advanced techniques for the characterization of physical, chemical, and functional properties of polysaccharide-based materials.
This work will be done in collaborations with the Pacifico Group at University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (Italy) and is oriented towards the pursuit of technological innovation in the field of hemp cellulose.
