Sergii studied Chemistry at the Karazin Kharkiv National University (Ukraine) from 2005 to 2010. He got his M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry in 2010 under the supervision of Dr. Nikolay Bondarev working on "influence of various factors on the extraction of potassium and sodium cations with 18-crown-6- ether". He started his PhD at the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Regensburg in 2010 and worked in the group of PD. Dr. Stephan Baeurle. There, he primary worked on the development of multiscale modelling techniques for simulating polymer solar cell nanodevices. In May 2014, after defending his PhD thesis, he joined the group of Prof. Gianaurelio Cuniberti. In Dresden, he plans to work on simulation of different physical and chemical processes over different time and length scales for investigating biomineralization processes in biological systems.
