Leon Bichmann did his BSc in Chemistry & Biochemistry at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. Topic of his Bachelor thesis was "the surface characterization of solid Immersion lenses (SIL) for nearfield microscopy on nanostructures". Furthermore he did research internships at the Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Munich and the Institute of Biophotonics at the National Yang-Ming University in Taipei. Since January 2014 he is working with Linda Deutscher on bacterial nanowires for biosensor applications.
