Andreas studied Materials Science at TU Dresden from 2005 to 2011. During his studies he did a 6-months internship at Less Common Metals Ltd., Birkenhead, UK, and the University of Birmingham, UK, where wrote a report on"Comparison of two AB2 type hydrogen storage alloys" under the supervision of Prof. I. R. Harris. Additionally, he worked with supported lipid bilayers at our chair in the InnovaSens group under the supervision of L. Römhildt, Dr. J. Opitz and Prof. G. Cuniberti. For his diploma thesis he worked in the group of Dr. S. Fähler and Prof. L. Schultz at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden, his research topic was"Magnetostriction measurements of magnetic thin films". In August 2012, he joined our chair again as PhD student in the InnoMedTec project.
